The First Day of School

The first day of school is always exciting. A new class, a new teacher, and new friends are definitely something to look forward to on the first day. Kennadie's teachers are Mrs. Treadway (math, science) and Mrs. Wilson (reading, language, social studies). She loves school and she has a lot of friends in her class, so it's going to be a fantastic year! Ryder is officially in pre-school, and his teacher's name is Ms. Viney. He's learning and actually really into the curriculum. Ryder can write his name, and he's drawing constantly. Then, of course, there's little Miss Avery Grace. She pretty much rules the roost in her class. The teachers think she is so cute because she calls them by their first names instead of Ms. and whatever the teacher's name is. Basically, she's spoiled and she has them wrapped around her finger. We are very blessed to have such awesome teachers in our kid's lives that want to not only teach them, but love them as well.

Kennadie's First Date!

We are so blessed to have a church that helps us guide our children towards God. Parenting is hard enough, so to be able to use our church as a resource to help raise our children is awesome. Our church is what prompted us to allow Kennadie to go on her first date at the age of 8! Her Daddy "picked" her up at 6:00 and took her to the restaurant of her choice, Chili's. During the evening, JD opened doors, complimented her, and had a nice father-daughter talk. He even took her to mall to buy her jewelry! High standards were being set which was and will continue to be the point of JD taking her out on dates. As parents, we feel that if JD sets an example of how a "boy" is suppose to treat a girl on a date, then Kennadie will pursue boys that love God and will treat her like the princess that she is. Needless to say, they both had a wonderful time and I'm so thankful that we were given this gift of a daddy-daughter date, so that we can hopefully prepare Kennadie (and Avery) for what lies ahead the best we can because as parents we want them to be in relationships with people that will love and honor them!
